L’Enfant Sauvage

€5! This hostel charges €5 to keep your belongings in a locker for the day. Obviously I denied that service and sat around with my bag until I could check in. Unfortunately I had arrived at my hostel at 10.30am and I couldn’t check into my room until 2pm. I did utilise my time wisely though, I spent it surfing through websites finding out my objectives for the next couple of days.

Many years ago, I actually came to Paris before, on an Art trip with school. Therefore, I have previously seen many of the cities main attractions before; Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Centre Pompidou, Musee D’Orsay, and many others so I didn’t feel it necessary to see them again. I wanted to see new stuff this time.

As soon as I was able to check in I took my bags to my bed and then left the hostel. Not long after I’d left did it start to drizzle, but having been in the UK recently, I was well prepared with a jacket. My first sight I wanted to check out was the Cathedral of Notre Dame. The only problem is that, as usual, I got lost on my way. I did find it after about 2 hours of walking though. I took a few snaps, strolled round the side, and ended up in a garden at the back where I sat for a while, until a mass horde of school children arrived.

So, I left for quieter surroundings but ultimately ended up walking back to the hostel where I was able to catch up with a friend of mine, and even make some new buddies.
