What do you call the borders around Finland?
When I was younger, I went on a couple of boats and got incredibly sea sick. Now I don’t know if my body has adjusted to the current but I am now currently on my 9th water voyage since I started and have not felt any uneasiness whatsoever! My only qualm is that it does get a bit familiar over time and I’m quite looking forward to keeping my feet on dry land for the foreseeable future.
I have barely done anything today so can’t really report anything more to be brutally honest. Hopefully when I get to Copenhagen again I will have more news…
The alternative title for this post was going to be 43% Burnt as that’s exactly how I feel right now. Since Thursday I have been getting progressively more sun than everywhere I have been so far and today was the tipping point when I needed some protection.
My plans for this weekend did not turn out. I had originally decided I would visit the Isle of Suomenlinna on Thursday and then Espoo on the Friday followed by a walking tour today.
Seeing as though both Sundsvall and Tampere have been somewhat minor disappointments, I was very glad to get to Helsinki. I got up and had my bowl of Coco Pops (always a child) and left Tampere behind me.
Having spent a very pleasant night on the boat I was rudely awoken by my alarm. Once I got everything packed up back into my sack, I disembarked to be greeted by the incredibly bright Finnish sun.
